Humanistic Communications, a talk by Paul Lussier
Why haven’t environmentalists and scientists been able to influence policy makers and mainstream Americans about climate change?   What can we do better?

Paul Lussier consults globally and collaborates with corporate, citizen, cultural, political, military and law enforcement stakeholders. He recently presented a workshop at New Directions in Environmental Law Conference, 2017 on “Securing Security: Building Narratives and Networks for Change Across Public and Private Sectors”.  In addition to all of his other activities, he wrote DOMINION, due to be published in 2017.

  • Lecturer Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies
  • Founder and Director of the Yale Science Communications with Impact Network (SCWIN),
  • Executive Producer/Writer for Time-Warner Television, A&E, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, HBO, ABC, CBS, Fox and other major global communication outlets,

Environmentalists need to create a narrative with a beginning, middle and end that meets the values of the intended audience and uses tools that will enhance our chance of success in influencing policy and decision makers.  The good news for our community is that the Yale Science Communications with Impact Network (SCWIN) can help us.   Please contact them at scwin.yale.edu, especially if you have a project and are struggling to find ways to connect to mainstream America.
