We serve New Haven, East Haven, Hamden and Woodbridge residents by providing community grants for environmental initiatives that promote sustainability and a clean, healthy environment. Grants are available for up to $10,000.
Grant applications are now closed but you can apply for Microgrants (up to $1000) and Sponsorships throughout the year.
The following instructions are for regular grant applications (not the microgrants or sponsorhips). However, you can view them to get an idea of the application process that we currently use.
1. Compile the Necessary Information The Name of Your Project: This is the main identifier for your application that you will use on all of your communication with us. Your organization: Name, name of leadership, street address, email address, telephone number, mission/goals, website address - if available, number of paid staff (both full time and part time), number of volunteers, year the organization started, size of last year's budget as a range. If your organization does not have a 501 c 3 designation by the Internal Revenue Service you will need to provide information about a fiduciary agent that will accept our grant money on your behalf as well as its address, leader, email and telephone contact information. The fiduciary agent must have a nonprofit designation (501 c 3) given by the Internal Revenue Service.
2. Download and Complete the Budget and Application Form First download the application form by clicking on the download application button at the top of this page. Please fill out all of the information and use Microsoft Word's word count feature to ensure you are within all of the limits. Save this document to attach at the end of the online application as a back up to the online version. Second, download the blank budget worksheet from the button at the top of this page and complete it. Save it as a word doc for upload as an attachment at the end of our online application. 4. Complete the Final Application and Upload Your Documents Follow the link below to open the official application. Once you begin this application you cannot save your work!
