MICROGrANT APPLICATIONS FOR 2021 are open until December 1, 2021

 microgrant application process

1Micro grant applications will be considered on a rolling basis from January 1, 2021 to December 1, 2021.

Generally, microgrants support single events such as conferences, neighborhood fairs, school environmental oriented events such as ecofairs, financial support for equipment for citizen science projects, initiatives from grassroots groups that have a new idea that they would like to try. Some examples of our awards supported fishing lessons for families (Fixing Fathers, Inc), an Ecofair at Metropolitan Business Academy, New Haven CT,  Booker T Washington Academy science fair, equipment to sample fish in New Haven Harbor, videographer costs for taping a community outreach event for residential stormwater and combined sewer overflow education in the West River neighborhood, and brochures for community environmental grassroots groups. The request needs to be related to our areas of interest. Our issue areas of interest

Micro grants (up to $1000) will be considered on a rolling basis at regular board meetings based on submission of a letter request on your organizational stationery. If you are not incorporated as a non profit with an Internal Revenue Service designation, 501 c 3, please provide contact information for your fiduciary agent that will receive the grant money on your behalf (address, telephone, email and name of contact person at your fiduciary agent).   Micro grants will be considered on a rolling basis throughout the year.

You should state briefly in no more than two (2) pages: (a) a description of your organization and its membership with contact information; (b) the group and community or area the grant will benefit; (c) what specific activities you will undertake with the funds, including use of funds; (d) a budget; and (e) what you hope to accomplish with the funds related to the Green Fund’s areas of interest.

If you have any questions please contact our Microgrants Chair, Hannah Peragine, at grants@gnhgreenfund.org

Submit your letter to grants@gnhgreenfund.org.
You can also mail a hard copy to our office if you do not have email.  However, you will get a more immediate response if you send your request by email.
